do.repair is job tracking, quotes, invoices and customer updates for independent repair shops. It comes from a company that runs its own repair business, so a lot of it exists because somebody at a bench got fed up.

Most shop software is either a till with a repair tab bolted on, or a general job system that cannot tell a repair from a boiler service. A repair is neither. The customer hands you something broken, you do not know what it will cost until it is open, and they have to say yes before you carry on.
do.repair is arranged around that. Everything below follows the same path: book it in, find the fault, get the customer to agree a price, do the work, hand it back.
A new job takes a customer (found by name or phone number, with a warning if the number looks like one you already have), the device, and the fault in the customer's own words. Then the bits that stop arguments later:
Accessories handed in. Charger, case, bag, cable, stylus, SIM tray, or anything else you add.
Condition when it arrived. Scratches, dents, a cracked back, water marks, plus a note. You can add photos on the job.
An optional passcode. It is kept out of sight. Only the owner, an admin or the technician the job is assigned to can reveal it, and every reveal is logged.
An intake receipt. A one-page PDF the customer takes away, with the accessories and condition on it and a place to sign.
Jobs sit on a board with a column for each stage: intake, diagnosis, waiting for parts, in progress, final checks and ready to collect. Drag a job along, or press a button on the job itself. Each job can have a technician, a QA checklist that has to be done before it goes out, and a timer if you want to find out how long repairs really take.
If you send engineers to customers, a job can be a visit instead: it carries the address, a time window and access notes, and the customer gets a reminder the day before.
There is an AI diagnosis button on a job. It only runs when you press it, and nothing it suggests reaches a customer until you have ticked it. It gives likely causes with an honest confidence for each, a test plan to follow at the bench, the parts it expects, and a plain-English line for the customer. You can ignore all of it and type your own diagnosis. Plenty of repairers will.
When you have ticked what you agree with, one button turns it into a draft quote: labour at your hourly rate, only the parts you kept, and the summary you edited. You read it and send it. Details on quotes and invoices.
Invoices add VAT only if your shop has a VAT number saved. Customers can pay by card from their tracking page and the money goes to your own Stripe account, not through us. Cash and bank transfers can be recorded by hand. Refunds, whole or partial, are made from the invoice and booked once.
Parts have a cost price and a sell price, a minimum level and a supplier. You get a warning when something runs low, purchase orders go to the supplier you pick, and a price watch points out when a part is cheaper elsewhere.
Revenue by day, week and month. Jobs by status and by technician. Profitability by service, down to margin per hour, which is the number most shops have never actually worked out. A report of what breaks most, based on the faults your technicians confirmed. Every list exports to CSV for your accountant.
Independent repairers in the UK: phones, laptops and consoles, appliances, watches, and on-site engineers. It is built for a team of one to ten. If you run a chain and need it to talk to a system you already have, get in touch before assuming it fits.
