RepairDesk is a cloud point-of-sale and repair management system. It says it is used by more than 3,000 repair stores, and it covers everything from a single counter to franchises with many locations. It is priced per store, and its pricing page shows dollar signs.

do.repair is run from a repair shop in Birmingham and built for one independent UK shop at a time. It prices in pounds per business, has a free plan, and includes the AI receptionist in the Pro plan. It is not a till, and it does not manage several branches yet. Card payment links, several branches and a public API are on the way (see the roadmap below).

Choose RepairDesk if you run more than one store, if you sell a lot at the counter and need a full point of sale, or if you need the many integrations it lists.

Choose do.repair if you run one UK shop, want pricing in pounds, want to try it free, and want an AI receptionist and quote follow-ups without paying for a separate add-on.

Prices are as published on 31 October 2026. They change, so check the source pages at the bottom before you decide.

RepairDesk calls its AI receptionist ARIA. Its own page says ARIA answers calls, gives store directions, looks up tickets, captures leads and books appointments, and that it can transfer a caller to a person. Its page lists ARIA with its own plans and prices.

| REPAIRDESK ARIA | DO.REPAIR RECEPTIONIST

How you get it | Its own per-store plans, listed on the ARIA page | Included in the Pro plan

Published price | Starter: 200 calls a month from $79 a store when billed annually (shown beside $99). Growth: 500 calls from $159 billed annually (shown beside $199) | Part of Pro at £149 a month

Extra calls | $0.50 per call over the allowance | Pro includes 10,000 AI calls a month, shared across every AI feature

What it does | Answers, gives directions, looks up tickets, captures leads, books appointments, texts details afterwards | Answers, takes the device and fault, books the repair in, texts the customer a link to follow it, and tells you what was said

RepairDesk describes ARIA as a backup that steps in when your team cannot answer. Ours is meant for the same calls. With do.repair, quotes and replies wait for your approval, and you choose what it may do on its own.

We found no statement about VAT or where data is stored on the pages we checked, apart from a 2020 blog post describing support for the VAT margin scheme on used devices | Pounds, VAT on quotes and invoices, and customer data stored in the UK. Some AI, call and message providers are outside the UK and are listed on the sub-processor list. No VAT margin scheme support yet

Track record | Says it is trusted by more than 3,000 repair stores | New. Used in our own repair shop and by early testers

You have more than one shop. Multi-location and franchise management is part of RepairDesk today. It is not part of do.repair yet.

You sell at the counter all day. If you need a full point of sale with card payments, receipts and cash handling in one place, RepairDesk is built for that and do.repair is not a till.

You buy and sell stock heavily. Serialised inventory, store-to-store transfers and supplier ordering are deeper in RepairDesk.

You need a particular integration. Its list is much longer than ours, and it has a public API.

You sell used devices and want the VAT margin scheme. RepairDesk has described support for it. We do not have it yet.

You want a proven product. It has been used by thousands of shops for years. We have not.

You run one UK shop and want to start for nothing. The free plan covers 10 jobs a month with no card.

You want pounds on the price list. Plans are in sterling, per business, not per store.

You want the AI receptionist without a second subscription. It is part of Pro.

You lose jobs when nobody answers, or when quotes go quiet. The receptionist, the tracking page and the automatic quote reminders are the centre of the product, not an afterthought.

You want to stay in charge. Quotes and replies wait for your yes, and you choose what the AI may do on its own.

You want something simpler. do.repair is smaller on purpose. There is less to set up.

These are not in the product today. We list them so you can see where we are heading, and each one moves up into the tables above on the day it is live. We are not promising dates.

Card payment links on invoices, through Stripe. The work is built and is being switched on.

Several branches under one account, for the top plan.

A public API, so other tools can connect.

Annual billing, as an alternative to paying monthly.

WhatsApp updates for customers. This needs approval from Meta, which we do not control, so it may take longer than the rest.

You can bring customers and prices across from a spreadsheet or from WhatsApp chats during setup, and you see a preview before anything is imported. If RepairDesk lets you export your customer list as a spreadsheet, you can import it that way. Start on the free plan, run both side by side for a few weeks, and only cancel the old one when you are sure.

What exactly will I pay each month, in pounds, with VAT? Including the AI receptionist and any text messages.

Where is my customers' data stored, and who else can see it?

Can I take my customer list and job history out if I leave?

What happens when I go over the limits? Calls, texts, users.

What is the notice period, and are refunds possible?

Everything above about RepairDesk comes from its public pages, read on 31 October 2026: its pricing page, its home page and its ARIA page. RepairDesk is a trademark of its owner. do.repair is not connected to RepairDesk.

We are a competitor, so read our words with that in mind. If anything here is out of date or wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it.
